Liverpool workshop 2 overview

Our second workshop started with some string figures, winding twine back to remember how we ended up at the Winter Garden on a Saturday afternoon. Continuing with the theme of remembrance, the group shared stories of personal objects that held a strong connection with water.

The varied and diverse collective water memories – ranging from holidays souvenirs, daily acts of washing, collecting microbes (in a hankie), a cherished drawing, plants – showed us how widely water touches and connects us.

We later started to map our stories onto a rough hand drawn map of Liverpool, laying out ideas, thoughts, people, places, moments in history. Some common themes started bubbling up, much like the spring in St James garden. No doubt this will be one of the spots on the tour. Looking forward to seeing how this all comes together, with added drag.
